How I miss coming to your place. I'm hoping you reopen soon your bagels are delicious and truly missed. I can't wait to see the new store and your staff has always been amazing. I'm a jersey girl living in pa and missing her jersey bagels
EXCELLENT- Everything they make and sell is beyond comparison, try them when reopened. Steve, Kurt, Arielle, the whole staff, SERVICE UNPARALLELED. GO THERE & See what I mean.
For years we have driven passed this place late in the day and unfortunately it has always been closed. The last couple of times we have been able to make it here while they were still opened and boy do they have a fantastic menu. Everything looked delicious plus their fresh baked selections put me on an mental overload. I was just so over whelmed in such a good way. We ended up just ordering fresh bagels, different types of sandwiches, cookies, and some cake. Their fried tater tots were so good. Its true never order on an empty stomach. I really ordered so much food. I have to say everything was delicious. Unfortunately, because we came late in the day the bagel choices were limited but I at least was able to get their last signature firehouse bagel.
It's so busy nobody goes there anymore. Hahahahaha. No, seriously it does get very busy and the wait can be up to 1/2 hour
Is there a better place? From NYC and this place rocks! Delicious bagels, fresh food, awesome service, great ambiance, etc. Created a combination that I can't get enough of: High-quality pastrami, egg, spinach, and slight olive cream cheese on Black Russian bagel.... Best breakfast sandwich on the planet try it!!! (I call it the "Mikeymunch", you call it whatever you want :) ) Digging deep for critique would be- no smoothies or fresh juice. But everything else fantastic.
What a surprise! I'm a cynical New Yorker but I've found my pre-conceptions of bagels outside of NYC is a vestige from the time before the bagel was known throughout the country. (a quick aside for a true story - there was a time when I used to travel around the Midwest and people had no idea what a bagel was. Seriously. No kidding. Times have changed.) Calling this bagel place is a bit of a misnomer as they also serve what look like large breakfast. I did not partake as I was going in and out I wanted to stay on the road. In any event, this stretch of road is known by my friends as "Bagel Alley," for the number of Bagel stores on either side of this corridor. We stopped firehouse bagels and got toasted bagels with cream cheese (I had spread) and we got them to go. Unwrapping them in the car, I was treated to a delicious bagel with very good lox spread. Tooth resistance was very good and better than expected, probably around an 8, the spread was ample and flavorful, also around an eight. If you need a Bagel fix and you're driving through this area I say give these guys a try. Service was friendly, ambience was standard breakfast order-up.
I had to stop by on my way to work. I like the atmosphere. Adorned with firehouse patches from different firehouses, pictures of firefighters line the walls. The red and black color scheme POPS and brings out the bench seating (they have plenty of ) so you should always have a place to sit. Outside has benches as well you can sit at. My Breakfast sandwich was delicious especially on a freshly made sesame seed bagel. They were still rolling out hot bagels as I was eating. Definitely stop in and enjoy everything from Coffee, muffins, cookies, breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, salads, burritos, bagels and even lottery.
If you are camping, hiking or hunting nearby but there really isn't many options for a meal for MILES! Thankfully this place is pretty darn good for its variety or breakfast stuff. I stopped in early in the morning so breakfast was what I was looking for and this place fit the bill, though they do have a variety of options for lunch. There is no waiter service like a traditional restaurant though they do have very limited seating that "feels" like a restaurant but a restaurant this place is not. Food is pretty darn good for the options in this area which isn't much at all. I took some pastries and I will say the pastries are hit or miss because some of the cookies I took were rock hard, tasted disgusting, and others were fairly soft/fresh. I'd buy baked goods at your own risk as milage may vary. They offer really nice platters of breakfast which I did not get but it did look super yummy making its way to other tables (e.g. French toast, pancakes). I know folks seem to rave about this place but let's keep it real, they are either coming off a mountain hiking/hunting and they are starving so anything will taste amazing to them or someone got lost traveling on the road and this is the best thing they've seen for miles as if they stumbled upon a magical oasis.
Haven't been here in a long, long time and I am so glad it hasn't changed. Food: One if the better breakfast places in Sussex County, I brought my wife (who was here recently) and friend to have a late breakfast. Their baked goods selection is huge, sandwiches and bagels galore, and my breakfast sandwich always hits the spot. Fairly reasonably priced as well. Service: depending who you get, its a good experience. Sometimes it is very stressful there so they may be a little short or to the point, but always polite. Aesthetic: firefighter inspired with great pictures and a 9-11 memorial to a fallen firefighter. Has an interesting look.
Moved around the area a couple months ago and was looking for my go to spots. I've seen Firehouse multiple times driving my usual route. Can't miss this spot, there is literally a fire truck in the front which def caught my eye. Read the reviews and pictures and decided to give it a shot. Once you walk in, usually a line depending on the day and time, and placed my order. Not gonna lie, it took a long time for my order to come but it was well worth it. I came here a handful of times to get their signature sandwiches which comes with fries. For the amount and the price, this place is well worth it. So far all the signature sandwiches I tried were awesome. Their sandwiches are huge! Def my go to spot in town. I highly recommend this spot if you want great food for a reasonable price. Specifically the signature sandwiches, it's so much food. * order in advance (your welcome) * honey mustard is great
